- Q. Don’t I need to use caulk now that “Bonda Flex” is not available?
- A. Yes, you do need to use caulk where the installation guidelines instruct you to do so, we recommend using Bostik Xtreme Flex.
- Q. Do I use Trim-Tex Spray Adhesive and caulk on oversized beads?
A. Yes, installation of oversized beads requires caulk, spray adhesive and staples on the mud leg.
- Q. Is Trim-Tex really rust and dent proof?
- A. Yes, Trim-Tex Beads are made from durable rigid vinyl that will not dent or rust.
- Q. Can I use Trim-Tex Beads outside?
- A. There are only a couple of Trim-Tex Beads that are UV rated, suitable to be used outside. Check the product specifications before deciding to use any Trim-Tex Beads on the exterior.
- Q. Do I spray one coat of Trim-Tex Adhesive Spray on the wall and one on the bead?
- A. You can either put two coats straight onto the bead or you can apply one coat to the wall and one coat to bead.
- Q. Do I need to tear off the tear away strip before painting?
- A. The tear away strip protects the adjoining surface. You can leave it on until after painting for extra protection.
- Q. Can I use Trim-Tex Angle Master on “ANY” off angle?
- A. No, some off angles will require an expansion bead. Angle Master does not have a soft centre for expansion. We recommend using Trim-Tex Magic Corner for off -angles that may be prone to structural movement, like uninsulated roof cavities.
- Q. How do I remove over spray of Trim-Tex Adhesive Spray?
- A. Any citrus cleaner will remove excess adhesive spray.
- Q. How do I prevent hairline cracks in a raked ceiling?
- A. We recommend using Trim-Tex Magic Corner that has an expansion joint of up to 9mm movement to prevent hairline cracks from occurring.
