FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ's)
What’s the correct technique for using the VOLITO Random Orbital Sander?
The VOLITO Random Orbital Power Sander is designed to glide smoothly across the surface, no pressure is needed. Simply rest the sander flat on the wall or ceiling and allow the machine to do the work. Applying extra force can damage the surface or the sander.
Move the sander at a steady, controlled pace and give the orbital action time to work. If you go too fast, the abrasive won’t properly engage with the surface and the finish may be inconsistent. Slow, even passes will produce a smoother result and eliminate the need for re-work.
Which sanding pads should I use with the VOLITO?
We recommend using the Ceramic Super Mesh Sanding Pads. Ceramic sanding pads are ideal for the VOLITO because they can withstand the machine’s high-speed vibration without breaking down. Other types of pads may wear out quickly or deteriorate under the sander’s orbital action, reducing performance and finish quality. Using ceramic pads ensures maximum durability, consistent sanding and a smooth, professional result every time.
How Do I Install and Maintain the VOLITO Interface Pad for Maximum Performance?
Align the interface pad carefully with the backing plate on the sander, following the hook-and-loop pattern. For maximum longevity, keep the interface pad attached to the backing plate at all times, as frequent removal can shorten its lifespan.
To extend the pad’s life, hold it in place with a finger while gently peeling off the sanding pad. We recommend replacing the interface pad approximately every 2,000 m². If you notice increased vibration or a change in the finish, it’s time to switch to a new pad.
