The Volito Difference: Why the Hover Glide Effect Changes the Way You Sand

THE VOLITO DIFFERENCE

WHY THE HOVER GLIDE EFFECT CHANGES THE WAY YOU SAND

Dustless sanding has come a long way, the VOLITO Random Orbital Sander introduces a different way of working altogether. Instead of pushing the tool into the surface, the Volito is designed to hover and glide, allowing the balance of the tool and dust extraction to do the work. On site with contract sander, Tom Suzuki, we put the Volito through its paces to see how it performs in real conditions.

HOVER GLIDE EFFECT

Traditional sanders often require pressure to remove material, which can lead to fatigue and inconsistent sanding. The Volito works differently.

Its hover glide effect allows the sander to float smoothly across the surface, meaning no extra pressure is needed. When used correctly, the tool simply glides across the wall or ceiling.

In fact, the name VOLITO comes from the Latin word meaning “to hover or fly”, perfectly reflecting the way the sander moves across the surface when in use.

By slowing down your movement and letting the sander hover, you achieve:

  • A smoother finish
  • Better control across the surface
  • Less strain on your arms and shoulders

In many cases, slowing down actually helps you sand faster and more consistently.

DUSTLESS SANDING

The Volito’s high-performance dust extraction system captures dust directly at the sanding head, keeping the air clearer while you work. With 48 suction valves, it delivers exceptional extraction, making it one of the most effective dustless sanders on the market.

With far less dust circulating, sanding becomes cleaner, more comfortable and easier to manage throughout the day and less clean up.

WEIGHTLESS CEILING SANDING

Ceiling sanding can be one of the most physically demanding and time-consuming parts of plaster finishing. Fatigue and awkward positioning often slow the job down, making efficiency a real challenge.

Thanks to the Volito’s lightweight design and powerful dust extraction, the sander almost holds itself to the ceiling, reducing the effort required to keep it in position.

The suction effect helps the tool feel almost weightless overhead, allowing plasterers to sand ceilings comfortably from the floor in many situations without the need for stilts.

For contractors like Tom Suzuki, that can make a noticeable difference across a full day on site.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Which sanding pads should I use with the VOLITO?

We recommend using Ceramic Super Mesh Sanding Pads.

Ceramic sanding pads are ideal for the VOLITO because they can withstand the machine’s high-speed vibration without breaking down.

  • Maximum durability
  • Consistent sanding performance
  • A smooth, professional result

How Do I Install and Maintain the VOLITO Interface Pad for Maximum Performance?

Align the interface pad carefully with the backing plate following the hook-and-loop pattern.

For maximum longevity, keep the interface pad attached to the backing plate at all times.

To extend the pad’s life, hold it in place with a finger while gently peeling off the sanding pad.
