On Wednesday the 4th of June Wallboard Tools attended the Skills Tech Acacia Ridge Open Day.
The event, hosted by Skills Tech Queensland, had a great turnout with hundreds of senior school students enquiring about and trying their hand at many of the different trade careers available to them.
Wallboard Tool’s hosted a “Try a Collated Screwgun” display, where students got to try out the Wallpro Collated Screwgun, was very popular – must be something about power tools.
The Queensland AWCI Apprenticeship Challenge was held in conjunction with the Skills Tech Open Day. Competition amongst the young apprentices was fierce and workmanship was excellent! The winners will be announced at the AWCI Gala Dinner on the 26th of July. In October the winners will be flying off to Queenstown, New Zealand to represent Queensland in the National Apprenticeship Challenge held as part of the 2014 National AWCI Conference.
Safety being of paramount importance to both the AWCI and Wallboard Tools – we sponsored a prize awarded to the team with the best safety practices around their project. Congratulations to Zane and Thomas for winning the safety prize.
