The FTA Mud Head from Tapepro was released a little over 4 years ago. It was designed to snap onto the Compound Applicator Tube and apply a single line of compound for the application of Mud Set Flat Tear Away Bead.
But if that’s all you think it’s for – maybe you’ve been underestimating this tough little tool.
The FTA can be used to apply single beads of compound to unusual internal angles for the application of other adjustable corner beads and tape like Trim-Tex Mud Set Magic Corner, Mud Set Adjustable Inside Corner Bead, No-Coat Ultraflex and LevelLine.
Fill your Tapepro Compound Applicator Tube with mud straight from the bucket- Clip the FTA mud head onto your Compound Tube
- Place the edge of the FTA into the apex of corner and run along the joint in the direction of the “bonnet”
- Repeat the process for the other side of the joint (you may need to rotate the mud head so it’s running bonnet first)
- Apply your Corner Bead or Tape then bed into the corner using an adjustable corner tool or joint knife
- Finish the angle with approved compound
The FTA fits to both the original Compound Applicator Tube and the shorter 600mm version. It’s a great addition to your Slayer Kit – allowing you to take on all sorts of obtuse angles with your Tapepro Tools.
