Cementing Friendships and Futures Wallboard Tools Supports the Next Generation of Plasterers
At TAFE NSW Lidcombe, the next generation of plasterers are making their mark and breaking a few barriers along the way. Among them are Amity and Holly, two best friends proving that teamwork, determination and the right tools can build more than just walls, they can build futures.
In an industry dominated by men, Holly shares “We clicked liked that and it was just so good having that other female with me, just doing it together and keeping the boys in check. One day I want to have my own business and have more females working for me.”
These two trailblazing students are part of the Stage 3 Solid Plastering course, now celebrating the completion of another milestone. The class has been able to gain hands-on experience with industry-grade tools, helping them prepare for real-world worksites. Supported by Wallboard Tools’ generous donation of professional plastering equipment the students were both grateful and eager to launch their careers.
The pair’s friendship has become a symbol of what trade training can offer beyond technical skill, also a great sense of pride, connection and confidence. Watch the coverage on 7 News below!
